Try this Ayurvedic smoothie to help balance your body. No matter what your current digestion issues, there is a smoothie here that can help!

Basic Recipe

Chop and place these in a steam basket:
Two carrots
1 beetroot
4 apples
A few large green leaves, like snijbeet

When you can slide a knife through the carrots, transfer everything to a blender
Add 1 large package of blueberries

Add any of the following, based on your doshic health requirements and your preferred taste

Lemon juice
Coconut milk, coconut juice (only for pitta in summer)
Almond milk
Chywanprash (Ayurvedic spiced jam)
Fennel fronds
Coriander stalks
Ripe banana (caution with ama)
Ghee, coconut oil, or hemp oil
Ginger
Cinnamon
Cardemom
Chili

Blend, adding hot water as needed

How to choose ingredients right for you

One way to think about foods is whether you need a warming action or a cooling action. Another is to consider whether there is too much dryness or too much wet/stickiness in your condition. I’ve provided both here:

Signs of irregular hunger, gas, bloating, dry stool with constipation, anxiety, dryness, Vata-driven hot flashes, menstrual cramping, sugar cravings in between meals, irregular lifestyle

Leafy greens (moderation, spinach ok)
Banana (excl ama conditions)
Lemon juice
Coconut milk, coconut juice (summer months only and add warmin spices)
Almond milk

Dry Ginger

Turmeric in moderation

Signs of burning sensation, hot skin rash, Pitta dominant hot flashes, tired eyes from over-concentration/work/study, excess menstrual bleeding, hunger in between meals
